George Burt is an award winning Cinematographer and filmmaker based in London.
George started at the top and has been successfully working his way down ever since. But seriously at the early age of eighteen George managed to talk his way into Shepperton Film Studios where he worked on some of the biggest budget movies of the early 2000’s. Having the opportunity to watch films like Batman Begins being made was the best experience a young filmmaker could ever wish for and it threw him into the deep end of the business.
However being a small cog in a large machine, George really wasn't fulfilled, knowing it might take up to twenty years to climb the so called ladder to become a traditional Hollywood cameraman. With the advice from a colleague George applied to study at prestigious Bournemouth Film School (Art University Bournemouth) to learn the craft of film production and cinematography in 2005.
George completed the course in 2008, during this time he managed to complete a string of successful music videos for Universal Music Group. This quickly earned him a reputation as the young go’to director and cinematographer of choice, for hundreds of music promos and commercials working closely with musicians and household names such as Ed Sheeran, Enrique Iglesias, Disclosure, Sony, ITV, BBC, Tommy Hilfiger, Chanel, River Island and Huawei, to mention a few.
Since then George’s DP portfolio range has covered the spectrum. He has worked in documentary, beauty, fashion, TV broadcast and feature film. George Burt has now won several awards for his work and cinematography. With a continued passion for innovative filmmaking, along with a strong team building spirit, George recently completed his sixth feature film collaboration, with celebrated writer and director Tom Paton, to produce their latest independent motion picture “400 Bullets” to be released in early 2021.
